Architekturtage Salzburg

With this year´s events focusing on the topic of value/preservation, the Architekturtage 2016 events put architecture´s societal role in the spotlight. What does architecture fulfill? What do architects contribute to society? Does society allow itself enough architecture? Building culture encompasses a set of values that goes far beyond just "nice" buildings. It is the foundation for creating an environment that we find worth living in. Building culture encompasses social, ecological, and economic aspects, as well as aesthetic and emotional considerations. A societal process, building culture influences and shapes all our lives, but also demands that we all, as individuals, engage with it.

The Architekturtage will delve into these diverse aspects of the topic throughout Austria on Juni 3-4, 2016.
