Wood. Building the future

Road show on forward-thinking timber architecture on tour through Europe. Wood will be showcased right in the heart of European capitals as the material of the future when it comes to urban construction and living.

WOODDAYS For 10 days in each location, the event will feature dialogues, lectures and presentations of best practices on the topics of growing cities, intelligent ways of using densely occupied space, energy efficient renovations and the creation of smart living spaces. Wood contributes in an essential way to new, cleaner and more healthful building practices and is the focus for the green cities of tomorrow.

WOODBOX The compact and mobile exhibition element demonstrates the technological, design and environmental potentials of building with wood. Developments in the past several years have revolutionised building with wood. One of humankind’s oldest building materials now reveals completely new perspectives when it comes to architecture and town planning – it's resource conserving, sustainable and urban.

MASTER CLASS An international and interdisciplinary workshop with market oriented approach for undergraduate students of architecture and civil engineering. The workshop is following the principle of the master class: selected students work on a formulated task for a specific time while they are supervised by acknowledged professors. The Master class is a tool for teaching the multifaceted know-how of contemporary building methods with wood and for ‘spreading’ the examples of a good practice.
